Bermuda New Year's Eve
On Thursday, December 31 we hosted our annual New Year's Eve Celebration at Take the Lead. This year will be different than any other year. The dancing went
from 7 to 10pm.
We took the name, 'Take the Lead' literally in being one of the first to welcome in 2021 three hours before everyone else on the East Coast. We hear so many people say they cannot wait to see 2020 end so we did it early.
Dress was everything from Bermuda shorts to black tie (and anything in between). Okay, so Bermuda is only an hour ahead of us but who has ever heard of celebrating
like the South Sandwich Islands?
State mandated that any business with a liquor license must close by 10pm which is the reason we had an early start.
A little before 9, champagne was given out as we counted down to zero. Everyone lifted their left foot off the floor the last five seconds so they could start 2021 on the right foot.
For years, our New Year's Eve events have been celebrations of good times past and hope for better times ahead.
2020 has certainly been a challenging year and we're
all looked forward to new beginnings in 2021.
We normally had between 60 to 90 people joining our celebration of bringing in a new year. We kept the number of people to 30. We welcomed in 2021 with a positive outlook while still being mindful of the challenges
and safety of our studio family.
We gave out tote bags of special gifts and individual snacks.
The gift bags are still available for sale for those who may want to support the studio as we continue our efforts to keep the doors open during these challenging times.
